AboutKristen Balcom founded Balcom Legal in 2019 after spending six years as a litigation associate in Vancouver, BC. Her experience as a litigator took her to all levels of court in British Columbia. She has worked extensively in tort litigation and has experience in municipal law, insurance law (including coverage disputes and insurance defence), environmental law, business and contract disputes, maritime law, and indigenous law.
Before starting Balcom Legal, Kristen practiced law as an associate at Borden Ladner Gervais in the Insurance and Tort Litigation and Environmental and Municipal practice groups. She practiced at BLG for three years before moving to Eyford Partners (formerly Eyford Macaulay Shaw Padmanabhan LLP) where she practiced litigation for two and a half years. At both BLG and Eyford, Kristen was fortunate to be mentored by lawyers with exceptional research and writing skills, some of whom were dedicated research lawyers. Kristen continues to be committed to professional growth and development. |
